What was your motivation?
My motivation was to do something for myself. As women, we wear so many selfless hats. So showing myself that I CAN do this was just the best feeling. 

What inspires you to keep going even during the tough times?
Seeing results and inspiring others keeps me going. Trust me; this journey is hard. However, being an example for others and looking good in clothes I haven’t been able to wear in years is what keeps me going! 

How did you change your eating habits?
I tried dieting, and that wasn’t for me. What worked for me was being conscious. Each meal, I made a conscious decision to make a healthy choice. Of course, some meals I did not, and I did not do it every day. However, each meal is a new decision, and each day presents new decisions. 

I’ve always loved salads, so I eat them but add grilled chicken sometimes. Sometimes I have three plain boiled eggs for breakfast. I also drink as much water as I can. I still struggle with it, but it will get better! 

I also realized that my stomach does not know what food tastes like. Thus I had to learn to eat for nutrition more than just for taste.

What is your workout routine?
I walk every single day. I started by walking for 15 minutes a day during a break at work. Now, I’m walking almost 3 miles a day. 

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 220 pounds, and my current weight is 160 pounds.

What is your height?
I’m 4’11″. 

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No. I had cosmetic surgery AFTER I lost my weight. (BBL) I plan to get a tummy tuck soon because I’m still losing weight and have loose skin due to weight loss. I know people are going to judge or think that the weight loss was FOR the surgery. In my case, it definitely was not. I lost my shape of my bottom as a result of pregnancy, and my insurance wasn’t paying for skin removal. They said it was considered “cosmetic surgery .”So I decided to get “real” cosmetic surgery. I want women to know that the work I put in was for me to be healthier, not to “look” a certain way.

When did you start your weight loss journey?
I began my journey in April 2020. It took me eight months to lose 60 pounds. 

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that each meal is a new opportunity to make a conscious decision. So make an effort every day to make a good decision. 

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice would be to take it one meal at a time, one day at a time. Remember that you got this, and we are all in this together.
